I am 30 years old, I was born in the city of Donetsk, Ukraine. As a child, I had an affinity for art, I then went a few months in an art school. I continued my studies at the University of Civil Engineering where I got my degree. For the moment, I live between Donetsk, my hometown, and Kiev, where I hope to settle there permanently.
While studying at university, I wanted to learn how to make beautiful pictures. So I decided to be introduced to photography taking a camera in hand. That's 7 years that I fell "in love" with this process.
In 2011, I started argentic: the study of this process, the development of film and other subtleties that I discovered during a whole year. Now, I prefer to do my shooting with a medium format.
In photography, I like the possibility to create images and moods with some surrealism and this much faster than painting.
I love different themes but nevertheless there are two directions that interest me: the portrait and the nude, although in my work I try to mix the two.
I try in my work, by the calm and restraint of my models, to transmit great serenity to spectators by gestures and poses of the model or by the moods. Even if there is sadness, I wish to pass on harmony in my images.
The sensuality is to be not afraid to bare her soul, is to be without masks, without cheating. This is the naked emotion.
Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon, Anton Corbijn, Dmitry Chapala, Alina Lebedeva, Rodney Smith, Marc Lagrange, Paolo Roversi, Mona Kuhn, Eugene Mokhorev.
But above all, I am inspired by music, because I find it more just and open. It transports me. I understand its moods and emotions they provoke in me, I seek to express them in my work.
Preparation is important to find the tone that will determine the spirit of the session. Then you have to find the right place and the right model ... but sometimes,it's the place or the model which defines the mood.
Most often, I use a medium format Pentacon Six as a main camera and occasionally my Yashica Mat 124G. I rarely use the 24x36.
I like working in natural light in apartments or artists' studios, rarely in the studio.
The artist does not like to stay still, he needs to constantly evolve ... I am no exception.
After a while, I feel stagnant, then I find a new subject, and so my work can evolve.
Anyone who creates needs to share, first with her / his friends and her / his entourage, then with a wider range of people. Internet offers a great opportunity to do so. Specialized photography sites allow sharing and criticism of her / his work.
I am glad to see on SP quality photographs, interesting works of photographers worldwide.
I feel like creating a series of photographs more conherent with a higher level of quality and maybe ... in the near future ... to set up an exhibition.
Thank you for creating a site like yours; I would like to continue to see a lot of quality photographs and participate in the life of SP.
